Keno is played at modern casinos, it is a lottery-like or bingo-like gambling game. A circular glass enclosure called a "bubble" containing 80 ping pong-like balls which determine the balldraw result is used in the game of keno. Each ball has a number (from 1 to 80) imprinted on it. During the balldraw, a blower pushes air into the bubble and mixes the balls. A lever opening a tube is pressed by a "caller" and then the balls lift one at a time into a "V" shaped tube called the "rabbit ears". Each of 20 balls drawn are recorded by the caller and a "verifier" and all wagers based on the numbers drawn are calculated by the computerized keno system.
An "X" is put over the "spot" choices on a blank keno ticket form with 80 numbered selection boxes (1 to 80). 20 balls at random are drawn only after the players wagers are placed.
Each casino sets its own series of pay scale choices called "paytables". The player is paid based on how many numbers drawn match the numbers selected on the ticket and according to the paytable selected with regard to the wager amount. There is a wide range of keno paytables from casino to casino and a large deviation in the house edge set for each of those paytables. One can hardly find two absolutely identical keno paytables.
The house edge ranges from less than 4% to 66%.
Keno is a game of pure chance! Actually your chances of winning can be seldom increased by the strategy. Thanks to the fact that numbers are chosen randomly there is no connection between them. The chance of being drawn of any number is the same.
If there are numbers that you haven't seen come up in recent games play them. Theoretically they will come up to make the long-term results for each number even out. Once again, however, the "random" nature of the game prevents this from being a certainty.
But numbers, which have come up, are more often betted on than the numbers that haven't come up. Some unusual and out-of-order trends and patterns can be very profutable when capitalized upon.
Pick successive numbers. Such pairs of numbers as 12 and 13 or 43 and 44 are successive in most cases. A great number of keno players believe in it.
It is more preferable to use the same set of numbers consecutively. Playing the same selection of numbers for a few rounds is the simplest and the most common strategy.
Remember that there is nothing 'strategic' about these systems, but they definitely are a bit of fun and they certainly will not harm your chances of winning.
